China
China is the birthplace of tea and for hundreds of years China was the only tea producer known to the western world. China consumes much of the tea that it produces only leaving about 18% of its yearly yield for export.
China is most known for production of black tea, but it also produces Green, Oolong, White, Flavored and Compressed teas. Only Lapsang Souchong, Gunpowder and Keemum are available on the international market.
