The Processing of Black Tea
Black requires full oxidation of the leaves. The leaves are dried for eight to twenty four hours after harvesting.
The leaves re then rolled to crack the surface to allow oxidation process to occur. Black tea leaves are left to completely oxidize which turns the tea a deep black color.
After that, a final drying takes place. From there, it goes off to be sorted, graded, and packaged.
